The Northside church of Christ is a non-denominational
group of believers who are committed to following Jesus in our attitudes,
our relationships and our worship. In July of 2002, five families determined
to take a stand for truth began the Northside church of Christ in Sioux
City, Iowa. These five families began a New Testament church, committed
to following Jesus Christ and His teachings.
Our Name: We are simply Christians (Acts 11:26; 1 Peter 4:16). We
are an autonomous group of believers, who have agreed to meet together to
do the work authorized in the New Testament and worship together according
to the New Testament pattern (2 Timothy 1:13). Collectively, we refer to
ourselves as the "church of Christ" (Rom. 16:16). This name shows ownership
of Jesus Christ, who possesses our hearts and minds in humble obedience
to His will (Hebrews 5:9). Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
Statement of Doctrine: The Northside church of Christ is constantly
pleading for all people to accept the teaching of the New Testament without
adding to or subtracting from the divinely inspired word of God. We plead
for unity in Christ of all believers (John 17:20,21; 1 Corinthians 1:10;
Ephesians 4:1-6). We speak where the Bible speaks and we are silent were
the Bible is silent. We will give you book, chapter and verse for everything
we believe, since we accept the Bible as the only safe guide in religion.
We have no other creed book, other than the Bible. We at the Northside church
of Christ are Christians, devoted to loving the Lord and one another.
